As all are likely aware, we have a pretty big winter storm coming through our area this weekend. According to the current forecast, we can expect between 5-10 inches of snow beginning Saturday evening and continuing through Sunday, along with a significant glazing of ice.
Due to the inclement weather, the HOA Office is likely to have some closures next week. Further announcements regarding office closures will be sent as the situation develops. Should the office close, the General Manager will be working remotely and will still be reachable via email.
As a reminder, treating and plowing of all roads within the community is done exclusively by VDOT. Information relating to VDOT’s snow removal protocols and clearing priorities can be found on their winter weather page. If you need to report an issue, you can notify VDOT via their online report system or by contacting their customer service line at (800)-367-7623.
Lastly, we would like to encourage all residents to make the necessary preparations now to protect yourself and your home. This includes but is not limited to:
- Securing any hanging tree branches that may fall under the weight of snow accumulation
- Ensuring you have all necessary supplies now to limit travel in dangerous conditions
- If you have a generator, make sure it is prepared in the case of a power outage and make sure your phone and devices are charged
- Ensuring your garbage cans and vehicles are out of the road to make way for snow plows
- Checking all insulation, caulking and weather stripping to keep out the cold
- Limiting unnecessary travel in icy conditions
- Staying tuned in to weather reports. At this time, only minor snow accumulations are forecasted, but as we all know, weather can be unpredictable.
