Good afternoon resident(s),
As mentioned in previous emails to the community, the Fox Point Board of Directors recently approved the HOA’s participation in the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office’s Trespassing Initiative, which will authorize local law enforcement to come onto HOA common property and enforce trespassing ordinances for individuals engaging in illegal or prohibited activities on community common property. Following several incidents of vandalism, theft and other suspicious activity in the amenity areas over the past year, the initiative was recommended to the Board by local law enforcement and has been endorsed by HOA legal counsel.
This past month, the Board and Cardinal Management submitted an application for the Trespassing Initiative Authorization. The Sherriff’s Office approved the application this past week and this initiative is now in effect.
The letter of approval provided by the Sheriff’s Office can be viewed here: Trespassing Authorization Approval Letter – Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office
To review:
- The Trespassing Authorization will apply only to HOA-owned property (i.e. clubhouse, parking lots, amenities, stormwater management ponds) and will not apply to public roads or homeowner lots.
- The Hours of Operation for all year-round amenities are as follows:
Spring/Summer (April-September): Sunrise to 10:00PM
Fall/Winter (October-March): Sunrise to 9:00PM
- All community ponds are off-limits. These ponds are for the purpose of stormwater management and are not intended for recreational uses such as swimming or fishing. If you observe individuals engaging in recreational activities in the pond areas, please contact the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office Non-Emergency Line at (540) 582-7115.
- The HOA’s maintenance contractor is currently in the process of installing additional “No Trespassing” signage in various common areas to reinforce the new protocol.
- We encourage all homeowners to re-review the current Fox Point Amenities Rules & Regulations (revised as of 3/17/2026) to ensure awareness of all expectations for making use of the common areas. Additionally, we encourage all homeowners to always have your Amenities/Pool Pass (either digital or physical card) on your person when making use of the amenities.
We very much appreciate the feedback and discussion from the March 4th Town Hall Meeting on this topic. The safety of our residents/guests and the security of the community’s common interests are of the utmost importance.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me directly.
